  • Indian embroideries have always known its incriativeness and decency. Traditional embroideries of India has given an extra additional grace to Indian sarees. Zardozi is one of such kind of embroidery. It is a kind of and embroidery used for bridal wears, ethnic wears etc. Zardosi is the oldest form of embroideries done in India. Its existence is from mughal age. Many types of embroideries have lost there identities in this designer world but zardosi is an form of embroidery which always attracts the designers and manufacturers. Both Indian and international women still loves her zardosi saree and consider it to be the most important attire in her wardrobe for functions and occasions. Zardosi sarees are very traditional and the embroidery is done by golden metal wires.

Embroidery saree is first tucked in a frame an then number of “kaarigars” design beautiful intricate patterns on the fabric through metal threads. The making of zardozi sarees include lot of time and hard work. Zardosi sarees are not only famous in India but it has a vast demand in all  countries outside India too. Most common patterns of zari sarees done by the Karigars are mangoes, flowers, creeper motifs and leaf patterns. The zardosi sarees are an ever-lasting dream, charisma and lasting thought of every womans prized possession.

India has one of the finest traditions of embroidery in the world. It has long been known for its embroidery with gold and silver threads called Zardozi. Zardozi embroidery is the glitteringly ornate, heavily encrusted gold thread work. Zardozi embroidered sarees are the traditional art of court embroidery is the sheer magic of nimble fingers and imaginative designs, envisaged by the ensemble of lustrous metallic wire which was traditionally the silver wire coated/plated with gold, silk threads, beads and stones. Zardozi sarees have always been in focus and been loved by all women who want to be classy and elegant.

Zardozi embroidery is been done on the rich fabrics like velvet, satin and heavy bases. Zardozi is related to our Indian historical ages and related to the ancient art. Done with the metal wire and metal pieces zardozi is always famous for its exclusive look. The original embroidery of Zardozi was done with pure silver wires coated with real gold known as Kalabatun. Though silver and gold threads have now been replaced with synthetic and artificial threads, the art remains the same.

Old zardozi sarees can also be easily used in making purses, handbags, cusshion covers, wall hangings etc. Zardozi always uses Dabka, katori, tikena and sitara. Lot of mix and match of the embroideries with zardozi makes its more attractive and intricate. Zardozi sarees have always been a centre of attraction for the women during festivals, marriages, weddings, parties or any other occasions.
